Risk Management – The Last Thing You Want to Think About
With all your other priorities during these “covid times”, managing your risk is probably the last thing you want to tackle. If you’re like most nonprofits, there are a host of other issues that come to mind as more important to deal with to keep your nonprofit going. As many of you may have experienced, an unanticipated adverse event however, can stop you cold. This session will help you understand the importance of managing risk, make you more confident in dealing with that risk, and help ensure that you are successful in carrying out the mission and vision of your organization.

This session will be conducted by Al Decker, ESC Consultant. Al is a recognized authority on enterprise risk management, business continuity, information security and privacy and internal controls with more than 30 years of experience in private industry and public accounting. He has served as an outside director of a private company and the CEO of a consulting firm. A proven leader in his field, Al’s experience includes enterprise risk management, IT security, internal controls, system implementation and training for companies worldwide.
Al is the co-author of a top-selling book on the practical implementations of an enterprise risk management process. He has also been featured in leading business and trade publications and frequently gives lectures to industry associations regarding his expertise on the topic.
Al received his B.S. in mathematics from William Paterson University and his MBA in accounting and finance from Rutgers University.
